Harvard Medical School—A new design language
Work at HMS, takes effect everywhere.
This was such a successful project from beginning to end. The communications team at Harvard Medical School was very receptive to a total re-architecture of the navigation and web site components. I worked closely with the team to update the visual design to a modern Harvard experience. The experience showcases the extensive biomedical research that the various HMS entities publish. In addition, the site is a ADA compliance masterpiece as it adheres to the latest requirements.

ADA Simplicity
For this project I wanted Harvard Medical School to be viewed as a leader in the ADA space. This means that all text needs to be readable no matter what. Contrast needs to be high, fonts need to be crips and clear. So I simplified their color palette down to three colors. The main color is black, the hilight color is Harvard Crimson red. The experience is very simple and very clean.
